Why Made in Dust?

I created this space to explore all things made in Africa. Images from the African continent have long been negative representations of a rich and diverse continent. It is not only dusty roads or children, it is also ideas, creativity, magic and color. My goal is to dive in all this wealth of hidden talent and share with you the treasures my motherland has to offer. I hope people will be able to get to know a different side of Africa in general, a place where they can get inspiration from, dream of, and of course embrace.

Made in Dust is also about taking every opportunity to drag our feet all over this beautiful planet we are lucky to live on. It is about cultivating an adventurous spirit, a passion for meeting new cultures and experiencing life under other skies. While there are many travel blogs around these days, I am keen on sharing travelling and exploring the world from an African, an expatriate and a woman perspective.

This blog is grounded in curiosity and self-education, always from a fun and hopefully creative angle. I have been very lucky to have lived on 3 continents and this has deeply impacted the way I engage the world, learn and want to be an agent of change. My focus is on finding ways to bring joy into life, comfort in my skin and trying my best to be gentle on our beautiful planet by creating both useful and conscious tips that will make our lives easier.
