Thriting the trends

So you think you can “thriftstyle”? Start with the 2020 color trends!
I have found that curating a fashionable wardrobe while thrifting very often comes down to 3 factors - patience, luck and creativity. However to make all these work for you, preparation is key! You have to know what you are looking for so you can recognize what will work at first glance. My advice is to research the look you are trying to emulate, colors, shapes, volumes that will fit with your aesthetics. I like to create a mood board to begin my research and go from there. Pinterest is a great way to start collecting images that inspire you in one place that you can then come back to for reference. It is important to identify the specific details that make a garment stand out to you; could it be lace details, specific fabrics, a distinctive shade of a color? take note of all these ideas and start your hunt ahead of the season. This will give you more time and a greater chance to score what you are looking for.

It might be barely winter, and Spring, let alone Summer, both seem so far away right now, but I have started my thrifting hunt for next year’s looks already. I have created a mood board of the colors announced for the Spring and Summer 2020 season - aren’t they just great? I get so energized just looking at them; their names themselves project such a positive hungry for life vibe while giving that feeling of groundedness and being down to earth - Classic blue, Fiery red, Flame orange, Storm, Blossom, Blush beauty, Bossa Nova, etc… Don’t know about you but I already feel renewed just reading them. Let me know in the comments which color you are looking forward to trying next year, and if you are ready to start your trend thrifting now, download my Thrift Cheat Sheet 2020 and get shopping!
