Visiting the Basilica of Yamoussoukro

The pandemic got all us grounded like children - we can’t visit all the places we had spent so much time researching and adding to our bucket lists. Thankfully, there is still one place we have access to and could still explore: our own country! If you have always wanted to check out African travel and get an idea of what is out there - then make sure to subscribe to my channel on Youtube.

Since I have been back in Cote D’Ivoire last December, I have been looking to explore more of my own country and rediscover it with new eyes. Just so you realize the situation, the last time I was living full-time in Abidjan was 2001. A lot has changed OBSVIOUSLY; the city has doubled in size, everything is being built and high school friends are all busy with children now. I have been taking advantage of any time off I could grab for little trips, revisiting new and old spots. I recently went to our capital city Yamoussoukro, 2 hours away from Abidjan to visit the Basilica Our Lady of Peace. The video is up on Youtube and you can watch it below.
